SPRING 2022

Spring 2022

The practice of returning

🕊🕊🕊

Here we are again, with another newsletter. The first of 2022. We finished off 2021 with our Year-in-Review, which is always a nice thing to do at the end of each year. And yes, even though it’s cliche, it’s good to do some reflecting, some turning inward. Hopefully you had the chance to do so as well, as the year came to a close.

So, anyway, here we are again 🦋.

It is two months into this new year and it has been interesting, to say the least. We’re not sure where to even begin, but perhaps we could start off with a gentle reminder to slow down and take a moment. Take a moment to just breathe and be. There is a lot of stuff happening in the world right now, and it hurts our hearts to know that there is pain and there is suffering. It hurts our hearts to wake up each morning to not only war in multiple countries, but also a global pandemic that has been impacting our livelihood for over two years now. It’s quite a time to be in the world right now, and we know that there is a lot of anxiety. Hearts are heavy and in pain. We feel it too.

Perhaps, though, just for a minute, we could take a breather. Even if it is a short minute, a short moment for yourself to regroup and reset. We all need these, and in these times, they are more important than ever. Sometimes, it’s hard to take small moments for ourselves when there is so much happening all around us. We know those feelings all too well. We too get caught up in the stuff every once in a while, and sometimes more, and it is exhausting and annoying to have to pull ourselves up out of it. But it is a practice. A practice that we hope to stay committed to. A practice that we hope each and every one of us can give just a few moments to each day.

The practice of returning. The practice of taking a moment to just be.

What does that look like for you? We invite you to take some time to maybe write a few things down on a piece of paper that bring you back to the moment. It could be a breathing exercise, a prayer, a saying, touching something with your hands and feeling your physical presence, or anything that might come up. We all have our own ways of returning. Returning to ourselves, our bodies, our breath, the moment. Right here and right now.

Our practices vary sometimes as well, depending on our location, our mood, our feelings. That is okay too. What we find is that there is no one right way, all the time, every time. We need variety, but we also need consistency. So, perhaps, take your practices and try them out. Remember that this is a practice and it is okay if it feels difficult at times, it is okay if it feels silly or tedious or annoying at times. That is where the real work comes in. There may be peaks and valleys, but practice is practice, and practice is worth it.

If you feel up for it, let us know what kinds of practices bring you back into the moment. We love hearing about the different ways we humans come back to the here. We love the variety- it just shows how truly unique and interesting we are. But at the same time, there is always some thread of similarity that connects us all back. Our paths may look and feel different, but there is more similarity in us than we think. We are unified, each and every one of us on this planet.

What’s new?

The EndorphinFam has been up to some new things this year already. More on that in the coming weeks and months, but we do hope and feel that 2022 is going to be a fruitful year in many ways. We are doing our best to stay hopeful, stay mindful, stay present, as we continue on our ventures in wellbeing, yoga, health, and healing. Let us know if there is anything you’d like to see this year, or possibly even collaborate on! Community is key, working together is key. As they say, it takes a village!
